Celgard® microporous membranes are produced using a unique “dry stretch” manufacturing process that is solvent-free and results in a low carbon footprint. Competitive products are made using a “wet” process that requires the use of solvents to create a porous structure and has a significantly larger impact on the environment.
The polypropylene-based materials used to create Celgard® microporous membranes are recyclable and completely perfluorocarbon (PFC) free.
